    Unborn Child Dies after Pontiac Man Stomps Expectant Mother in Stomach

    PONTIAC, MI – On Saturday January 19th, 2019, at approximately 3:40AM, Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Waterford Regional Fire Department responded the 40 block of Leonard Lane for a Domestic Assault in-progress.

    The caller, a 19-year-old woman, of Pontiac, stated that her boyfriend, a 22-year-old man, of Pontiac, was being assaulted by her brother. She advised further that her boyfriend had kicked her in the stomach and that she is currently 6 months pregnant. Upon their arrival, Deputies secured the scene and found that the pregnant female was experiencing severe pain from being kicked in the stomach by her boyfriend who had fled the residence prior to their arrival.

    Paramedics from Star EMS stabilized the victim and transported her to St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital for medical treatment. The victim advised Deputies that she and her boyfriend were arguing and that when she refused to give him her cell phone, he pulled her by her feet off the bed and onto to the floor where he then stomped on her stomach.

    The victim was transported by Paramedics to St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital where upon examination by a physician the unborn child was pronounced deceased. The boyfriend was located at a residence in the 20 block of S. Tasmania Street. He was taken into custody and transported to the Pontiac Substation where he spoke with Detectives. The residence was secured by Deputies and remaining witnesses to the incident were interviewed by Detectives and he was then lodged OCJ pending charges.
