Santa on Patrol – traffic stops for charity with Dearborn Police

Tuesday, December 19, LAHC rode along with the Dearborn Police Department for the Second Annual Santa on Patrol. Starting at 10 a.m. and lasting about 2 hours, the team randomly stopped unexpected families in East Dearborn near the Detroit Border and handed out holiday gifts, which included toys, backpacks, gift cards and clothing items.

“LAHC is honored to partner with Midwest Recycling, Hacham Consulting and both the Dearborn and Detroit Police Departments on bringing joy and holiday cheer. This is about telling these young children they are not forgotten. “Stated Wassim Mahfouz, Senior Executive Director of LAHC. “More importantly, it is a testament that our humanity always unites us as we come together to serve, love one another and remember those who need us the most, the children.” Finished Mahfouz.

“We believe it is important not just to give back but to collaborate with others to do so,” said Abe Hachem, president and CEO of Midwest Recycling. “We really appreciate the local police departments for teaming up with us and helping us make this holiday season joyous for those families in need.”

Both Detroit and Dearborn Police Departments are participating in Santa on Patrol. “It is always fun to recognize good drivers during the holiday season,” said Chief Ronald Haddad. “Their reaction is PRICELESS!”
Noting that the city of Detroit along with the sponsors above will perform the very same event on Friday, December 22.
