    Young Drivers/Summertime Traffic Issues

In order to emphasize the importance of making good decisions behind the wheel, driving without distraction, the Dearborn Police Department hosted a media event today at 11:00 am in front of the police station in 16099 Michigan Street, inviting representatives from mothers against drunk driving, AAA Michigan, Ford Motor Driving Program for Life Company, local high schools and others to attend, to remind young drivers and their parents to be aware of their responsibilities on the road. Car accidents are the leading cause of death among American teenagers, killing between 5,000 and 6,000 children and young people each year. Police officers throughout the country are also aware that they are likely to be summoned during this time of year to investigate a fatal or dangerous collision.
