Unknown caller reports damage done to elementary school in Dearborn Heights

An unknown person called to report damage to Thorne Elementary School in Dearborn Heights on May 25 at 6:23 p.m.

An officer arrived at the school and could not locate the caller, but was able to find a group of children who appeared to be between eight and nine-years-old. The group of children told the officer another group was on the roof of the school, and they were unsure if a window had broken.

The officer checked the building and did not locate a broken window, but did notice a door on the northeast side of the building with a cracked glass panel. Both the door and window were locked and secured.

The officer was ultimately unable to determine when the damage occurred, or who the original caller was.
