    US Deputy Secretary of State Visits Baghdad today

    The US Embassy in Iraq announced Saturday that the US Deputy Secretary of State will visit Baghdad today.
    “US Deputy Secretary of State Sullivan will visit Baghdad today, where he will lead a joint delegation from various agencies to participate in the Higher Coordination Committee to strengthen our long-term partnership with Iraq and the Iraqi people,” the embassy said in a statement.
    “The deputy minister intends to focus on expanding economic relations between the United States and Iraq, increasing foreign investment to facilitate the reconstruction of Iraq after 14 years of war and fighting terrorism,” she said.
    She noted that “Deputy Minister Sullivan will meet with senior Iraqi officials to discuss efforts to ensure defeat defeatist and regional strategic priorities and progress in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.”
