    Whitmer to talk on women’s issues in Dearborn

    Gov. Gretchen Whitmer will join women from across Metro Detroit as the keynote speaker at the 20th annual Remarkable Women Charity Luncheon from noon-2 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Henry Hotel in Dearborn.

    Presented by Florine Mark, president and CEO of The WW (Weight Watchers) Group, Inc., this charity event will raise funds for women’s medicine and research in Michigan.

    More than 600 women from across the Detroit area are expected to attend with proceeds benefiting women’s health initiatives at the Florine Mark Inpatient Unit for Women’s and Children’s Health at Henry Ford Hospital, Beaumont Ministrelli’s Women’s Heart Fund, Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute and the University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center.

    This event will feature a lively panel discussion among influential women in the media.

    U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell also will speak at the event. Martha Reeves and Detroit’s Cass Tech High School Jazz Band will provide entertainment. Guests will receive a swag bag at the vendor fair.
