Dedication ceremony for a new neighborhood park in east Dearborn

Dearborn’s newest park—Graham Park—officially opened with a dedication ceremony on Sept. 16. The ceremony included remarks from Mayor John B. O’Reilly, Jr. along with city, county, state and Beaumont Health officials
‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍The park is a mixed-use green space on Graham Street, between Wyoming and Lonyo, consisting of a miniature soccer field and an ADA-compliant play area with swings, a slide, a seesaw, benches and picnic tables. In addition, new ADA-accessible walking paths will be installed. Also, shrubbery and small trees will be planted to provide shade and an environmental mitigation of air pollution.
‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍The installation of the park was made possible by the City of Dearborn Planning Division working in conjunction with Beaumont Health/Healthy Dearborn, Wayne County and the Dearborn Recreation and Parks Department. Mansoor Mashrah, President and Co-Founder of the Al-Huda Islamic Association, also served as a catalyst to make this project a reality. Congrats to all!
