The Development and Relief Foundation held its third annual fundraising dinner in support of orphans in Iraq at BJCC.
Over 600 hundred members of our community attended the dinner. The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by brother Mohammad Elzeim.
The MC, Husssain Sabbagh, offered a power point presentation on various projects DRF is currently running, including 3 major orphanages in Karbala and a massive charitable hospital know as Imam Al-Hujjah Hospital.
Imam Hassan Qazwini spoke about the significance of caring for orphans and the needy in Islam.
Finally, Reverend Kenneth Flowers, pastor of Greater New Mount Moria Baptist Church in Detroit, delivered an electrifying speech on orphans in Iraq and about his own visit to Karbala and meeting the orphans at Imam al-Sadiq Orphanage run by DRF.
