On February 20th and 21st, Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad, in conjunction with 19th District Court Chief Judge Sam Salamey hosted three General Officers from the Director Generals Office of the Lebanese Internal Security Forces. These Officers all hold senior executive level law enforcement positions within the Lebanese Internal Security Forces.
The purpose of the visit was for the Generals to gain exposure to Dearborn’s Criminal Justice System and to learn from Dearborn’s internationally recognized law enforcement best-practices. Chief Haddad opened the events with a presentation which highlighted Dearborn’s overall community-oriented policing philosophies and practices.
Other topics presented were crime reporting & statistics, cell phone investigations, intelligence driven policing, Dearborn’s communication operations center, evidence processing, polygraph utilization, community relations, SWAT, K-9 and bomb team applications, and video-enhanced investigations. The Generals expressed their sincere appreciation for Dearborn graciously hosting them and for providing them a valuable learning experience that they are certain will assist them to increase their trust with the communities they serve.
