Stranger threatens woman with handgun in Dearborn Heights road rage incident

A stranger pointed a handgun at another driver in an apparent road rage incident the evening of Nov. 25 on northbound Telegraph Road near Ann Arbor Trail in Dearborn Heights.

A 41-year-old Redford Township woman said she was stopped at the light on northbound Telegraph at Warren Avenue, in the second lane, and when the light turned green, the driver of an older model silver or gray Ford Escape began honking a horn at her. As she drove away from the light, the angry driver pulled alongside her on the driver’s side, and yelled at her about her driving. The woman said she argued back briefly.

She said the angry driver then dropped back, and moved behind her, then next to her on her right, on the passenger side of her car. She said he then pointed a handgun directly at her, and said, “Bitch, I got something for you,” then drove away rapidly on eastbound Ann Arbor Trail.

The woman then pulled into the parking lot of a pharmacy near Telegraph and Joy, and called for police officers.

The victim said the driver was a black male, 30 to 40 years old, 5-foot-7-inches-to-5-foot-9-inches tall, with curly brown hair and a “scruffy” beard. Police officers were unable to locate either the vehicle or the suspect.
