Dearborn Police and U.S. Marine Corp. Reserve joined forces to kick off the annual “Toys for Tots” campaign

“Toys for Tots” – The nationwide program, which is run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, was founded in 1947 to distribute holiday toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them. Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said he estimates that they received appx. 1,000 toy donations during the morning collection. During the past several years in which the department has served as a collection site, the volume of donations has grown each year, he said. “It’s a total community effort and I couldn’t be prouder,” Haddad said. “Our Fire Department pitched in, our police men and women, Dearborn Police Explorers and the Marine Corps.”
