Drunken, argumentative women refuse to leave bar

Two drunken, argumentative women, who had tried to pick a fight earlier with four patrons inside the Red Martini Bar, 22229 Michigan Avenue, in Dearborn, at about 1 a.m. June 25, refused to leave the outdoor patio area of the business until police officers were called to intervene.

The bar owner said that earlier, the women were causing a disturbance inside the bar, and the patrons they verbally challenged left at the owner’s request, but the two women refused to leave.

When police officers approached the women, they detected a strong smell of intoxicants, and saw that they were unsteady on their feet, and had watery eyes and slurred speech. The women were also loudly shouting obscenities outside of the bar.

One of the women claimed she was shoved by another patron while near the restroom, but she was unable to provide details, and said she did not wish to document the incident. She had no visible injuries.

The two women were either unwilling or unable to call for a ride home, so a police officer called one of the women’s husbands, who came to retrieve the drunken duo, who were cited for disorderly conduct.
