Sunday, April 8 the Islamic Institute of Knowledge held it’s semi annual fund raising dinner. Emcee of the evening Dearborn City Council Mike Sareini. The dinner was a huge success from the unwavering support of the community. Chairman of the IIOK Hajj Moussa Kaddouh spoke about the past activities and upcoming projects that the IIOK will be endeavoring in,while Hajji Khalida Beydoun spoke about the IIOK activities that have been running with amazing success for the past 35 years. The Arabic after school program, Saturday Arabic school, Sunday Islamic school, the Funeral home Gates of Heaven, the Fiqh classes, and the numerous projects that the Islamic Institute of Knowledge has adopted under Marjaeyat Samahet Sh. Abdul Latif Berry. The highlight of the event was the updated information of the breaking ground in a few weeks of the IIOK’s mosque. A project that will be the heartbeat of East Dearborn as it is centralized in the city. Hajj Hassan Hazime spoke in detail about the funeral home the IIOK opened up which is the first of its kind. Lastly, various respected candidates running for various positions spoke to the hundreds in attendance about the necessity of voting. The event was a huge success as the community cane together and united as one with the IIOK.
