Good Samaritan’s wallet stolen from store parking lot

A Detroit man who stopped to help a woman load some heavy items into her truck the morning of July 4, in the parking lot of Home Depot, 5951 Mercury Drive, in Dearborn, said he thinks his wallet fell out of his pocket while he was lifting, and that it was picked up and stolen by a passerby.

The victim said he suspects the wallet was taken by a black woman, about 5 feet, 2 inches tall, with curly, shoulder length hair.

Missing along with the wallet was the man’s identification, birth certificate, medical cards and $250 in cash. The man, who reported the theft five days after it occurred, said he had not noticed any fraudulent activity as a result of his identification documents being stolen.
