The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has postponed a critical debate on Israel and the Arab countries over the past six months. This comes in the wake of a compromise brokered between Israel, the Palestinians and the Arab states, brokered by the United States and the organization’s director, Audrey Azoulay. Israel’s ambassador to the organization, Carmel Shama-Hacohen: “Israel views favorably the willingness of the Arab states, the Palestinians and especially Jordan.”
