Just keep weeding pavements! Adele ‘rejects jaw-dropping £1million offer from billionaires to perform in the Middle East… in favour of a spot of gardening’
She was named eighth on the Sunday Times Young Rich List this year, and is said to be worth a staggering £125 million.
And Adele looked to be taking a well-deserved break, after new reports surfaced claiming she has rejected a £1million offer in favour of a spot of gardening.
The Chasing Pavements star, 29, is said to have declined the offer by Arab millionaires to fly over to the Middle East and perform, after developing a passion for weeding and growing her own plants.
A source told The Daily Star, that the Rolling In The Deep singer has been enjoying time off from her hugely successful career, which has seen her scoop three number one albums and 15 Grammy awards.
Australian musician Guy Sebastian revealed: ‘I was with Adele’s agent and two gigs offered her a £1m deal to perform.
‘Her agent said ‘Nah, she’s not doing it. She’s busy gardening this week,’ he told the paper.
MailOnline has contacted Adele’s representative for comment.
The source said: ‘In the last few years, we have seen massive stars performing on the strip and every major hotel wants to say they have the biggest star as their resident.
She would join the likes of Mariah Carey who had a residency at Caesars Palace and Britney Spears who enjoyed a stint at Planet Hollywood.
So far the highest paid Vegas resident is Celine Dion, earning an estimated £363,521 ($476,000) per show for her second residency for Caesar’s Palace.
Adele, who splits her time between Sussex, London and LA with her husband of one year Simon Konecki, 43, and their four-year-old son Angelo, had a busy year of touring during 2016 and the first half of 2017.
And she looks to have slowed things down for the second half of the year, enjoying a well-deserved rest amid reports she earned around £16m last year- £45,000 per day.
‘And she has always been very careful with her earnings so there’s no chance she’ll ever waste any of it. It just proves she’s one of the biggest stars, if not the biggest, in her industry.’
However the break may be short-lived, as recent reports claim The Wynn hotel in Las Vegas are keen to secure a residency with her.
A source told the paper that the Hello hitmaker was offered a 12-month stint at The Wynn Hotel, with a paycheck of £382,000 ($500,000) per show.
