Dearborn, MI – Mayor John B. O’Reilly, Jr. and Chief Ronald Haddad are proud to announce
that the Dearborn Police Department has achieved accredited agency status through the Michigan Law
Enforcement Accreditation Commission. The Dearborn Police Department started the accreditation
process in March 2019 and has worked tirelessly over the last 18 months to align policies, procedures,
and operations with recognized law enforcement best practices across the state.
This voluntary self-assessment involved a collaborative effort by the men and women of the
Dearborn Police Department working in conjunction with other departments within the City of Dearborn,
and law enforcement agencies across the state.
Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad stated, “Receiving accredited agency status is a great
achievement for our department, and our city. This is a continued step in our journey toward
maintaining excellence in our profession. The commitment by the men and women of the Dearborn
Police Department to make this program successful will serve the community for years to come.”
The Dearborn Police Department will be presented with a formal certificate of accreditation by
members from the accreditation program on a future date to be announced.
