    LEBANESE FOOD BANK CELEBRATES WORLD FOOD DAY, INTRODUCES MOST RECENT PROJECTS

    Marking World Food Day, the Lebanese Food Bank invited friends, followers, volunteers, and donors to a special event at Souk el Tayeb in Armenia Street to introduce them to the association’s most recent activities. Following the national anthem, the association’s President, Mr. Kamal Sinno, stressed the paramount importance of granting every Lebanese national proper access to food; he also shone light on the seriousness of the situation that Lebanon currently endures, not to mention it’s grave impact on the health of citizens.

    During the event, a short film documenting the Lebanese Food Bank’s activities was shown. The guests were also introduced to the association’s most recent projects, the most important of which are:

    – The “Lebanese Food Staple – LFB Mouneh Boxes” project, through which Lebanese staple food is purchased from more than 100 Lebanese farmers, packed, and distributed to the poorest families.

    -“Our Children – Atfalouna” campaign, through which 3000 vouchers are distributed to needy families to buy baby supplies, such as milk and diapers.

    – A unique culinary book titled “Dining with Diplomats”, in which the ambassadors of twenty-five countries in Lebanon have shared recipes of their traditional dishes.

    This book was issued and gifted to the Lebanese Food Bank by Turning Point Company with the aim of selling it, so that the proceeds will be allocated to the Lebanese food staple project ”LFB Mouneh Boxes”.

    It is to note that the Lebanese Food Bank charitable association has been striving to combat hunger in Lebanon since 2011.
