    The American Lebanese Association had a full house attending their Annual Mother’s Day Iftar Dinner.
    The program started with Quraan recitation and that of the Athan by young boy; Ali Charara. Mrs. Celia Nasser; Dearborn Public Schools Board Member, was the master of ceremony who welcomed the audience and wished attending mothers a Happy Mother’s Day. It was followed by a moment of silence for the victims of the Texas school shooting and the unarmed civilians of Gaza. Two speeches about the role of our mothers and how they shape our loves were shared by Wayne County Judge Mrs. Mariam Bazzi and Dearborn Public Schools Board Member; Lawyer Mrs. Fadwa Hammoud.
    Two ladies were recognized for their roles in the community and being distinguished leaders in their field. Mrs. Nawal Hamadeh; for her contributions to the field of education. And, Mrs. Rehab Amer for her contributions to the field of social justice in foster care.
    The evening concluded by distributing 4 scholarships to students from Fordson High School by Mrs. Farah Bazzi followed by the distribution of raffle prizes.
