    A pharmacy in Livonia accused of being linked to the multi-million dollar cough syrup scheme

    Livonia, Michigan – A Livonia pharmacy is under investigation for its ties to an alleged multi-million dollar prescription cough syrup scheme.

    Drug law enforcement agents raided a home in Dearborn on Thursday in connection with the illegal sale of cough syrup, known as “purple drank” or “sizzorp.”

    Authorities said that a person in the investigation has links to Medpro Pharmacy on Middlebelt Road in Livonia. Witnesses said they saw federal agents raid the pharmacy last week.

    Sources close to the investigation provided a photo of a large sum of money confiscated from a home in Dearborn. The source said that the picture is valued at about $ 15 million.

    The DEA issued a statement saying, “As part of an ongoing drug investigation, the DEA’s Detroit Field Division confiscated an unspecified amount of US currency during the execution of a search warrant on April 29.”
