Will the World Cup be every two years instead of four?

The Asian Football Confederation welcomed the organization of the World Cup every two years instead of four years.

According to Reuters, FIFA is working on a plan to hold the World Cup every two years, whether for men or women.

While the AFC welcomed this proposal, the European Union “UEFA” rejected it. The proposal was also rejected by the South American Football Association “CONMEBOL” and considered that holding the World Cup every two years would not be an idea.

The North American Confederation believes that if the idea is to balance the game of football globally, there is no objection to it. The World Cup is currently held every four years, as its last edition was in 2018 in Russia, and the next edition will be held in 2022 in Qatar.
