Wayne County has raised the minimum wage for all county employees to $15 an hour.
The Wayne County Commission approved an agreement Thursday (October 21) between executive management Warren Evans and union leadership.
“I am delighted that we have reached a broad agreement that will benefit many of our employees,” Evans said. “I thank the Wayne County Commission, which quickly considered and approved this agreement, which was ratified by members and signed by AFSCME chiefs of local residents 25, 101, 409 and 1659.”
Wayne County officials said the agreement is a step toward creating a more competitive wage for their workforce and attracting new talent.
