Gas prices in Michigan are down 2 cents

The price at the pump is dropping steadily in Michigan with a decrease of 2 cents over the past week.

Drivers now pay $3.29 per gallon on average. It’s still 8 cents more than last month and $1.18 more than this time last year.

The average cost for a 15-gallon gas tank is about $49, according to AAA — a $10 increase from last January’s high.

Even as demand continues to rise amid the US economic recovery, gasoline stocks are down, according to the Energy Information Administration. These factors along with the high costs of crude oil prices have kept pressure on gas prices.
