    Vibeke Skofterud dead: Olympic cross-country skiing gold medallist dies in jet ski accident aged 38

    Olympic gold medallist Vibeke Skofterud has died in a jet ski accident aged 38.
    The Norwegian cross-country skier’s body was found on Sunday morning, after crashing while riding in the darkness on Saturday night.
    Investigator Torbjorn Trommestad claimed that Skofterud was travelling back to her holiday cabin near Arendal when the accident happened.
    Skofterud is best known for being part of the 4×5-kilometre relay winning team that won Olympic gold at Vancouver 2010.
    After a glittering career on the snow, she retired from competing at the top level in 2015.
