Saudis get licenses to drive passenger planes

Five Saudi women have been granted licenses to work as “captain” to lead civil aviation aircraft.
The General Authority for Civil Aviation said that this comes within the framework of empowering Saudi women to work in the aviation sector, one of the strategies of the World Aviation Organization (ICAO).
It noted that there were gender education institutes and that they supported and promoted the employment of women in the aviation sector.
A number of women have recently been hired by the Commission or service provider companies in the technical fields.
