Lebanese singer Haneen Abu Chakra and her colleagues participating in an international art festival in Uzbekistan have protested against the presence of an Israeli member of the jury.
“I was surprised when she came to the festival with the flag of Israel and an Israeli member of the jury,” Abu Shaqra said on Saturday in a video posted on her Facebook page. She demanded that the Israeli member be removed from the committee, the festival.
Abu Chakra confirmed that: “The Lebanese Mission continues to boycott the festival until the implementation of its demands by the presidency of the festival,” considering that “the existence of Israel in the arbitration committee cultural occupation is rejected.”
More than 300 representatives from 73 countries, including musicians, musicians, researchers, artists and others, will participate in the festival.
