An Iraqi officer was killed during a raid in Basra Governorate

On Wednesday, the Joint Operations Command in Iraq issued a statement announcing the killing of the heroic Major Ahmed Abdul-Zahra during a shooting in the southernmost province of Basra.


And she said in the statement: "The men of Iraq are still irrigating the soil of this country with their pure blood, and exerting themselves for the sake of security and stability by prosecuting wanted persons and elements of organized crime."


She added, "In a heroic operation carried out by a joint force consisting of a detachment from the Qurna Crime Division under the command of Major Ahmed Abdel-Zahra, with the intelligence of the 36th Brigade and the National Security Apparatus in the Muzaira'a area within the Al-Qurna district in Basra Governorate, to arrest the criminal, Nuri Mishaal, who is wanted for justice, the force came under fire. As a result, Major Ahmed Abdel-Zahra was martyred in the line of duty.

She confirmed that the force responded to the source of the shooting and was able to kill the criminal, Nuri Meshaal.
