A Palestinian swimmer was killed in the Gulf of Aqaba, southern Jordan

The Jordanian authorities announced the death of an international Palestinian swimmer in the Gulf of Aqaba, southern Jordan.

The authorities indicated that the 21-year-old Palestinian hero, Nadim Owaina, drowned after hitting rocks while swimming in an area not designated for diving.

For his part, an official Jordanian security source explained that the young man drowned in the Aqaba Sea, where he was treated and when he arrived at the hospital he was dead, as the security services opened an investigation into the incident. 

In parallel, friends and relatives of the swimmer confirmed that the latter was on a trip with his friends to Aqaba, as he had an accident during the trip that killed him.


They stated that he was practicing jumping activity from a place not designated for diving, and he had an accident hitting the rocks that killed him.


It is noteworthy that the late was a university student, born in 2002. He is a swimming champion who represents Palestine in international forums, and won a number of awards and medals.
