According to DTE Energy, they are taking to the skies with new technology to help improve the power grid in Dearborn
Starting Monday, May 2, residents may notice DTE workers flying drones in neighborhoods. They will be capturing pictures to do a further analysis on the equipment that powers homes or businesses. This will help DTE plan the work needed to upgrade services.
The drones can inspect hard-to-reach locations on the grid, which helps expediate essential work. Plus, it reduces the need to knock on a customer’s door to ask to be let into yards to do inspections. The drones will fly high above power lines and will not disrupt your day.
