After threatening to withdraw sponsorship, KFC apologizes to France and Mbappe!

Kentucky Fried Chicken chain in France issued a statement, retracting the idea of withdrawing from the list of sponsors of the French national team, after Kylian Mbappe refused to participate in a marketing campaign for the chain.

"KFC regrets the words that were said yesterday," said a statement carried by the "Reuters" news agency about the restaurant chain.

He added: "These are personal opinions, but they do not in any way reflect the position of the company, the partnership with the French Football Federation has always been a source of pride for us."

This statement comes on the heels of statements made by Alain Beral, Vice President of Kentucky Fried Chicken in France. Beral had confirmed that the company would stop sponsoring the French national team, with Mbappe refusing to appear in its promotional campaign.

But the company's statement downplayed such allegations, and the sponsorship appears to be continuing, at least for the time being.

Meanwhile, the French Football Federation decided to amend the advertising and image rights policies, after Mbappe protested against them.
