An Algerian player refuses to play a match in Israel

The player of the Turkish Istanbul team, Basaksehir, the Algerian Ahmed Toba, refused to travel with his team to Israel, in order to play an important match.

The Turkish club did not announce the list of players traveling to Israel to play this match, and contented itself with a post on its account on the social networking site "Twitter", in which four players appeared, "repentance" was not among them.

The Algerian newspaper "Al-Shorouk" confirmed that Ahmed Touba was not on the list that will participate in this meeting, and that he preferred to stay in Istanbul.

The Hebrew website One wondered if Tawba might be subject to administrative or financial penalties from his club, or even from the European Football Association, because of his refusal to travel to Israel.

A Turkish sports journalist commented on Touba's behavior on Twitter, saying: "Although I find the player's decision unprofessional, I congratulate him on his straight stance."
