At least 5 people, including a baby and a pregnant woman, were killed in a tragic traffic accident at an intersection in Los Angeles (video)

After a horrific traffic accident documented by surveillance cameras in Los Angeles, which killed 6 people, the authorities charged the "murder" of a nurse in the intensive care unit, who was driving the car that caused the accident.

On Monday, prosecutors announced that Nicole Lauren Linton, 37, had been charged with six counts of murder and five counts of premeditated murder.

Linton's Mercedes-Benz crossed a red light at high speed at an intersection in Windsor Hills, near downtown Los Angeles, last Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol. And footage of the fatal accident, posted on social media, shows the car colliding at a "terrifying" speed with several cars before it caught fire.

Among the six victims of the accident were a pregnant woman named Ashery Ryan, her 11-month-old son Alonzo, and the father of the child, Reynolds Lister.

Family members told Fox that the family was on their way to a pregnancy test when the accident occurred.

In a statement issued Monday, Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon described the incident as "tragic."

It has not yet been revealed whether the "reckless" nurse was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, during the fatal accident.
