At least eight killed in floods in western Venezuela

The Venezuelan authorities announced that they had recovered eight bodies after the country was exposed for days to heavy rains, which raised the levels of rivers and led to floods that caused the loss of at least three others.

Officials of the Civil Protection Authority in the western state of Tachira revealed that four of the victims were minors.

Various areas in western and central Venezuela were affected by torrential rains for at least a week.
