"Can you believe it?"He Call the police to report the cost of a cup of coffee!

Italian authorities have imposed a fine of 1,000 euros on a coffee shop in Florence after an angry customer called the police after being asked to pay more than $2 for an espresso.

According to the British newspaper, "The Guardian", the customer called the police to report his demand to pay 2 euros for coffee, inside the cafe known as "Dita Artikhianali" in the city center.

This price is relatively higher than the average price of a cup of coffee in Italy.

The customer complained because the café did not display the price of a cup of coffee in its menu, which is usually on a wall hanging, which was considered a mistake, despite the fact that the shop is so famous that it won prizes in coffee-making competitions. The owner of the cafe, Francisco Sanabo, was angry about the fine, saying that the price was on a digital menu, referring to the possibility of obtaining it through a "barcode".

He explained that the customer complained because he was asked to pay 2 euros for decaffeinated coffee that is carefully prepared, by extracting the water, and said: "Can you believe it?"

He urged the owner of the café to update the law, because most of the current cafés may find themselves subject to fines and penalties due to their approved list.

In Italy, the average price of an espresso is 1 euro, but 70 percent of coffee shops have raised prices due to the crisis caused by disrupted supply chains and poor coffee crops.

And consumer associations in Italy warned that the price of coffee could rise to one and a half euros this year.
