Eintracht Frankfurt raises the European League Cup for the second time in its history!

Eintracht Frankfurt, Germany, was crowned the European League champion, by defeating Glasgow Rangers in the final match, on penalties, 5-4, after the end of the original and extra time 1-1.

After a negative first half, Glasgow opened the scoring in the 57th minute through Nigerian Joe Aribo.

Eintracht equalized through Colombian star Rafael Buri in the 69th minute of the match.

The original time of the match ended with a 1-1 draw, so the two teams resorted to two additional games, which did not result in any goal, to decide on penalty kicks, which smiled for Eintracht Frankfurt 5-4. This is the second time that Eintracht lifts the European League Cup after the first in 1980 (under the name of the Federation Cup).

On the other hand, Glasgow failed to achieve its first title in the competition.

This title will give Frankfurt a direct seat in the Champions League next season, despite being 11th in the German Bundesliga table.
