On Sunday, the Iraqi Ministry of Defense announced the exhumation of the remains of 47 Iraqi and Iranian soldiers who died in the first Gulf War between Iraq and Iran.


And it stated in a press statement: "In continuation of the joint excavation operations with the Iranian side, to search for the missing Iraqis and Iranians as a result of the first Gulf War 1980-1988, and in reference to the two memorandums of understanding signed between the Islamic Republics of Iraq and Iran in 2008, the remains of 25 martyrs were exhumed, including three from my knowledge." identity".


She added, "22 other remains of Iranian soldiers were exhumed, including 11 remains of unknown identities in the sectors of operations in (Basra, Maysan, Wasit, and Diyala)."
