Exploding a pipeline to pump crude oil in the Yemeni governorate of Shabwa

The Russian "Sputnik" news agency reported that gunmen on Wednesday evening blew up an oil pumping pipeline in the oil-rich Shabwa governorate, southeast of Yemen.

A source in the local authority in Shabwa governorate confirmed to the agency that "unidentified persons blew up the pipeline for transporting crude oil near the Gol Al-Raydah area in the Mayfa'a district, east of Ataq, the center of the governorate."

He added that "the competent authorities have stopped pumping oil through the pipeline linking the Oqla field and the export port in the Al-Nashima area in the Radhum district, southeast of Shabwa, overlooking the Arabian Sea."

The network of oil and gas pipelines in Shabwa governorate is subjected to repeated acts of sabotage that cause losses to the country exhausted by the conflict that has lasted for nearly 8 years.
