Fairlane Mall Incident: No Known Threats to the Public
At around 6PM yesterday, Dearborn Police Department Officers in the area of Fairlane Town Center responded to an altercation reportedly involving a firearm. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers observed an individual surrender a firearm into a trash bin and approach them. The officers arrested that individual without incident, and pursued three others in relation to the initial altercation. Dearborn Police arrested two of those individuals, as the other fled the scene.
While some 9-11 calls reported shots fired, there is no evidence to suggest any shots were fired. An active shooter situation did NOT unfold, and there are no known threats to the mall or the public at this time.
