Finnish Airlines lays off 200 employees as a result of Russia's closure of its airspace

The Finnish airline has decided to lay off nearly 200 employees, including 120 in Finland, as a result of Russia's closure of its airspace in response to Western sanctions.


Yul TV channel reported Thursday that the layoffs will not affect pilots and other flight personnel and crews.


The need for layoffs stems from the closure of Russian airspace to Finnish aircraft, according to the same source.


This move will lead to further modifications that will affect approximately 770 people.


The company had earlier cut staff,

To reduce the size of its losses, it began renting planes with crews to other airlines.
