France: The Minister of Defense will present a law to increase the military budget by 3 billion euros

French Defense Minister Sebastien Licornu has confirmed that he will submit a law to increase the country's military budget to Parliament.

"He will present to Parliament a bill to increase the country's military budget by 3 billion euros ($2.96 billion) in 2023 in the coming days," Licornu explained, according to statements.

Licornu's comments came during a joint press conference with his German counterpart Christine Lambrecht, in Berlin.

"In a few days, I will submit to Parliament a law to increase the military budget by 3 billion euros next year," he added.

And the French government spokesman, Gabriel Attal, had confirmed last August that "France plans to increase its military budget by 3 billion euros in 2023."

It is noteworthy that the total defense budget of France during the current year 2022 amounted to 41 billion euros.
