Funny incident in India .. a monkey steals evidence of a murder and disrupts court procedures

In a strange incident of its kind in India after a monkey stole incriminating evidence in a murder before handing it over to the judicial authorities.

The trial proceedings of two defendants were disrupted in India, due to a monkey stealing the evidence of indictment.

The monkey was able to extract a package of evidence, containing 15 pieces, which included the knife used in the crime. During the pre-trial hearing, the security authorities admitted to the judicial authority the incident, and said that during the transfer of evidence of the crime after it occurred in 2016, a monkey extracted it.

The police confession came through a written note to the court, in response to the latter’s order to bring the required evidence. The security authority noted that the policeman in charge of protecting evidence was suspended from work since this strange incident, until he retired from work, and died shortly after.

The case goes back to the murder of Ms. Shashikant Sharma, whose body was found near Chandwaji Police Station in Jaipur. Her family filed a complaint, which was absent 3 days before they learned of her murder, and then resorted to blocking a major road in the area to protest. To absorb the anger, the police arrested two men after 5 days of protests, Rahul and Mohanlal Kandira, and charged them with murder.

At that time, the police collected the main evidence in the case, including the knife that the two suspects were believed to have used to kill Sharma, and prepared it for transport to the court if it is referred to the judiciary.
