Guardiola opens the door for Bernardo Silva to leave Barcelona

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has commented on the possibility of his team player, Bernardo Silva, leaving to Barcelona this summer.

Several reports have recently confirmed that Barcelona is seeking to include the Portuguese player to strengthen its midfield this summer in the event that Frenkie de Jong leaves the team.

In the press conference for the Manchester City and West Ham match at the opening of the new season of the English Premier League, Guardiola revealed his position on Silva's departure to the Catalan club.

Guardiola said in his statements: “I would like Silva to continue with us, he is a very special player, but I do not know what will happen, the players have wishes and I am not the one who stands in the way of their dreams.” And the Spaniard continued: “The players’ career is short and I am only part of the club, I have to talk about things with the management, and they are the ones who make the decision in the end, and I will definitely agree.”

And the former Barcelona coach added: “Barcelona has not made an offer to sign the player yet, but there is more time in the current Mercato, and I do not know what will happen.”

Recently, reports revealed that the Portuguese star had asked his team's management to move to Barcelona this summer, in addition to reaching a personal agreement with the Blaugrana to move to them.
