Iran's Leadership Council of Experts: External agencies supported the riots, and those involved will be prosecuted

Today, Friday, the Assembly of Experts in Iran condemned the "recent riots and insults to sanctities," and stressed that the rioters would be prosecuted at the judicial level.

"The bitter and sedition events that we witnessed in recent days, despite their abort, provided once again the pretext for depriving society of security and stability, and offending religious sanctities," the council said, in a statement.

“The desecration of the Qur’an, the burning of mosques, damage to private and public properties, or attacks on the internal security forces, mobilization and security guards in an Islamic country with a people who believe in religious principles cannot happen without planning, directing and exploiting the feelings of young people by external agencies,” the statement added.

“The Assembly of Experts, with its insistence on the application of Islamic laws and rulings in society, and its full support for the leader of the Islamic Revolution and the progressive principle of Wilayat al-Faqih as a solid pillar of the Islamic Republic, affirms the necessity of clarifying and presenting the correct account of recent issues, organizing the virtual space, comforting and realizing the rights of those affected,” the statement continued.

It also stresses the need to support the procedures of the judicial authority in the context of the prosecution of rioters, and the need to be vigilant and thwart the hateful plots of the global Zionist and hegemonic regime against the Iranian Islamic Revolution, he continued.
