Iraq: Four Iraqi soldiers were killed in an armed attack north of Kirkuk

An Iraqi military official announced the martyrdom of four Iraqi soldiers, on Saturday morning, in an armed attack targeting an Iraqi army barracks north of the city of Kirkuk, located 255 km north of the capital, Baghdad.

The Iraqi official, who requested anonymity, stated that the attack took place at 5:00 am (0200 GMT), when an Iraqi army barracks near the road towards Qara Ahangir and Rukhnawah district, northeast of Kirkuk, were targeted in an area not far away. From the point of deployment of the Kurdish Peshmerga forces.

The region witnesses from time to time activity of ISIS remnants, or members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), whose sites were hit by drone strikes months ago.

At the beginning of this month, the Popular Mobilization Forces surrounded a group of ISIS inside a 16-kilometer tunnel in the Rawa desert in Anbar Governorate. And I was able to arrest one of the elements of the organization, who admitted the presence of a number of others inside Wadi Al-Nakhila in the desert of Rawa.
