Iraqi Foreign Ministry: We cooperate with everyone to reduce terrorism and move away from the policy of axes

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein stressed that the challenges the region is going through require uniting efforts to confront them, stressing the need to strengthen regional and international cooperation.


In his speech to the Manama Dialogue, the Iraqi minister said that the convening of the conference represents an important opportunity to end instability in the region, noting that his country's government continues to cooperate with all countries to curb terrorist activities.


The Iraqi official pointed out that Baghdad seeks to enhance work in the fields of legal, judicial and security cooperation, as well as efforts to enhance cooperation in the fields of security and economic diplomacy, and said: "Iraqi diplomacy seeks to build distinguished relations with all countries."

Regarding what he described as the "Russian-Ukrainian crisis," the Iraqi foreign minister stated that it affected the global economy, explaining that resolving conflicts is a basic priority for establishing security and stability in the Middle East.


On the issue of the Yemeni crisis, Minister Hussein said that it constitutes a state of instability, stressing that Iraq also supports the path of settling the Libyan crisis.


The Minister of Foreign Affairs defended the formation of the Iraqi government, saying: "It was formed with fair elections and with the support of the United Nations and the Arab League. Work is done seriously, and improving and developing services for citizens is among the most important priorities of the Iraqi government."


He added that the Iraqi government is continuing at a steady pace in international partnerships, adopting the principle of balance and moving away from the policy of axes.
