Iraqi Parliament Speaker: We reluctantly accepted the resignation of the Sadrist bloc

Iraqi Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi announced on Sunday that he "reluctantly" accepted the resignation of members of the Sadrist parliamentary bloc, indicating that efforts were being made to dissuade the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada, from this step.

Al-Halbousi said in a tweet on Twitter: "Depending on the desire of Mr. Muqtada Al-Sadr, we reluctantly accepted the requests of our brothers and sisters, the Sadrist bloc's representatives, to resign from the Iraqi parliament."

He added, "We have made a sincere and sincere effort to discourage Al-Sadr from this step, but he preferred to be a sacrifice and not a crippling reason for the sake of the country and the people, so he decided to proceed with this decision."
