Is it permissible to use the "microwave" for all foods?

Dr. Yelena Solomatina, a Russian nutrition expert, announced that some foodstuffs are not recommended to be heated in microwave ovens.

The expert notes that it is not recommended to heat radishes, beets, celery and others in microwave ovens, because eating them afterwards negatively affects the body's organs.

And she adds, when these substances are exposed to heat treatment using microwave ovens, when ingested, they affect the nervous system. They also contain substances that, after heating, can adversely affect the kidneys and can cause poisoning. The expert says, "Potatoes and eggplants contain solanine, which becomes more active and practically becomes toxic when heated.

In addition, nitrates in beets, carrots, radishes and celery, when heated, turn into nitrosamines - a carcinogen. This substance damages the nervous system and kidneys and is a cause of poisoning. And it can lead to the death of the fetus in the womb of a pregnant woman. Therefore, these substances are not recommended even to expose them to the sun.”

And she adds, as for fermented products and acidic dairy products, they lose their properties when heated in microwave ovens, as this process eliminates the beneficial bacteria present in them.
