Manchester United ties rising star Zidane Iqbal to a long-term contract

Manchester United Football Club announced the renewal of the contract of young Iraqi player Zidan Iqbal.

"Manchester United is pleased to announce the signing of young player Zidane Iqbal on a new long-term contract," United wrote on their website.

He added, "Iqbal agreed to sign a new contract that will keep him at United until June 2025, with the option to extend for another year."

Iqbal is 19 years old and occupies the midfield position. He joined the Manchester United academy at the age of nine, and made his first-team debut in the Champions League match last December against Young Boys at Old Trafford.

Iqbal previously played for the Iraqi national team, where he participated in two matches in the World Cup qualifiers.
