On his wedding anniversary, he won 100,000 dollars

Luck smiled for an American guy on the day of his second wedding anniversary, as he won a lottery prize of 100,000 dollars, and the joy became two joys.

The lucky man and his wife were celebrating their wedding anniversary on the beach in Carolina where Kenneth Smith, 33, of Greensboro, North Carolina, bought a scratch-off lottery ticket at a Calabash gas station.

He said he went to that particular store and bought a lottery ticket on the recommendation of a friend and got lucky with the jackpot.

"We would not have known about it had it not been for his presence," Smith said in a statement, according to the New York Post. "I've always fantasized about winning a big lottery," the winner exclaimed.

Smith, a real estate worker, was in the Calabash area with his wife along with some of their friends and family to celebrate their second wedding anniversary, and after Smith won the $100,000 prize, he told the NC Education Lottery he took everyone to breakfast.

Smith told the lottery group that he plans to use his winnings, which ended up in the $71,016 after taxes, to improve the home and build a place for his new puppy, a 9-week-old Dachshund.
