Oxford families support state prosecutor's second offer to investigate high school shooting

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is giving Oxford Community Schools a second chance to accept its offer to conduct an independent investigation into the fatal high school shooting.

The school board has one month to make a decision. This comes just days after Nessel met Oxford's parents.

Less than 24 hours after the Monday evening hearing, Nessel sent a letter to the Oxford School Board leaders.

In the letter, Nessel says it is offering "an independent investigation into the events that occurred on November 30".

“We want to know what failed, so we can make improvements and corrections moving forward,” said one parent, George Stofan.
